Almost 95 villages in Mkuranga lack dispensaries

Mkuranga. Only 30 villages out of 125 in the district have dispensaries. This was revealed by Mkuranga Member of Parliament Mr Abdalah Ulega  during a public rally recently.

The MP said villages without dispensaries are located on islands, where transport services are poor.
“I understand the importance of quality health services for mothers and children. I am planning  to mobilise resources to construct  dispensaries in villages  with other stakeholders,” said Mr Ulega.
In addition the District Hospital lacks an X-ray machine and the lawmaker said the district has submitted a request to the ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children.

“The ministry has promised that the X-ray machine will be installed at the District Hospital anytime from now,” said Mr Ulega.
A resident, Ms Mariam Hamis pleaded to the MP to hold the government responsible to improve the health sector in the district.
