Facebook rewarded a 10-year-old with $10,000 for finding Instagram security flaw

Earlier this year, a 10-year-old — who is not even old enough to sign up on Facebook — impressed Mark Zuckerberg by hacking Instagram, the photo-sharing application owned by Facebook. The Helsinki-based boy genius, called Jani, received $10,000 from Facebook for identifying a security bug, Forbes reported.
Jani uncovered a flaw that allowed him to delete any written content on the social media platform by altering the code. "I would have been able to eliminate anyone, even Justin Bieber," the wunderkind told Finnish publication Iltalehti.
An aspiring security expert, Jani sent his discovery to Facebook via email. He verified his report by deleting a comment the company posted on a test account, a spokesperson told Forbes. The bug was resolved at the end of February. In March, the tech giant informed Jani of the fix and gave him his monetary reward.
Facebook's youngest white hat hacker

Jani plans to use the reward to buy a new bike, football gear, and new computers for his brothers, he said in the interview with Iltalehti. He ousted a 13-year-old to become the youngest ever recipient of Facebook's bug bounty program, which offers rewards to people who identify and report legitimate security risks.
Since it launched in 2011, Facebook's bug bounty has awarded over $4.3 million to more than 800 researchers. The program determines the payout based on a bug's risk, rather than how complex it may be. In 2015 alone, 210 researchers received $936,000 with an average payout of $1,780.

A quick guide to buying a watch

When it comes to buying a  watch,  you need to follow the right steps to be happy with your purchase. Consider these tips below;
  • Determine how much you want to spend on a watch. You will see a lot of attractive watches, but there is really no use giving much attention to a watch above your budget. To make it easier, you can search within your price range to make sure you get results within what you can afford.
  • You need to know what features you want your watch to have. The advert will contain the watch specifications. Please note that the more complicated a watch is, the more pricey it is.
  • Think about the style of watch you want. It could be an analog one or a digital, sport, fashion, luxury one. Knowing this, helps make your search easier and faster.

  • The durability of a watch is very important. The cover of the watch case is important for durability concerns. Go for sapphire crystal if you need maximum durability or go for mineral crystal if you are fine with your watch simply being "scratch-resistant".If you are on a tight budget, you may have to settle for acrylic crystal which is prone to light scratching.

  • Familiarize yourself with the parts. Aside from the energy source, display, and time regulating mechanism, mechanical watches will have other external parts that you should familiarize yourself with so you can better understand what you are paying for and what needs maintenance.

  • Read the product specifications carefully. Ensure the features highlighted on the watch are those you desire in a watch.

  • Do not hesitate to ask any questions about a particular watch if the specifications are not fully listed. Remember that you will not be able to personally evaluate the watch until it reaches your doorstep.

  • Always order from trusted online watch merchants. It is best to deal with an online website such as Ady where you know your transaction is safe and transparent.

In Kenya, Government servers of a Ministry have been Hacked

Confidential information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reportedly been leaked after the well known international network of activist and hacktivist identified as Anonymous compromised the Ministry’s servers.

Anonymous indicated that it had accessed one Terabyte of the data which it will release in bits.
“We have 1TB of data but at the moment, we have leaked just one portion of it. In few days you will receive full disclosure of the data – We the Anonymous will stand against corruption, child abuse, and child labour! The government of Kenya should have expected,” Anonymous was quoted by HackRead.

The hacking was conducted under the banner of operation Africa (OpAfrica) which was launched in 2015 against child abuse, child labour and corruption in the African countries.
Among the information hacked into include email conversations, security related communication, international trade agreements and letters discussing the security situation in Sudan.
Anonymous was the same group that declared war on ISIS after the terror attacks on Paris and Brussels.

Finnaly, TeeBillz denies rants about Tiwa Savage, says his account was hacked

After earlier rants on his Instagram page this morning, Tee Billz has allegedly opened a temporary twitter account and has been replying media houses. He says his real account has been hacked..He hasn't tweeted from his other account since April 13th ..Prior to his Instagram rants today, the last time he posted on Instagram was 2 weeks ago...

Worthy of note is the fact that, while Tiwa has been promoting her new video for weeks, TeeBillz hasn't mentioned it  on social media..That's so unlike him.
So, I guess the hackers deleted the posts themselves since he has no access to his accounts..

Kenyan President Uhuru Unfollows Everyone on Twitter Except These 11...Magufuli Included

President Uhuru Kenyatta has unfollowed most of the people he had been following on Twitter leaving only 11, mainly famous Heads of State.

Kenyatta who has been the most popular Twitter personality in Kenya based on the number of followers, was following more than 140 people but his following has suddenly shrinked.

The President has only retained United States President Barrack Obama, François Hollandeof France, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japan's Abe Shinzo.

Among the African Presidents, Mr Kenyatta now only follows Tanzania's John Magufuli, Uganda's Yoweri Museveni, President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari and head of the African Development Bank Akinwumi A. Adesina.

In Kenya, the President unfollowed everyone except First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto and State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu. What informed the decision remains unclear as Kenyans.co.ke unsuccessfully tried to reach Director of Digital Communications in the President's office, Dennis Itumbi.

Some of the people the President unfollowed include: Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, Police Inspector Joseph Boinnet, State House official account, Water Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eugene Wamalwa, former CS Charity Ngilu, blogger Ory Okolloh, South African President Jacob Zuma and former Tanzanian Head of State Jakaya Kikwete.

In 2015, Kenyatta became the first person in the country to hit one million followers and also became the second most followed African President behind Rwanda's Paul Kagame.

The President has, however, overtaken Kagame and is currently followed by over 1.4 million people

Photos Go Viral of Aerospace Engineer Grad Who Hopes to Change Perception of Black Women in Science

After posting graduation photos on Twitter, an aerospace engineering graduate from Georgia has gone viral a year after she met President Barack Obama.
Tiffany Davis, a Black woman, is set to graduate from the School of Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology this May. In the photos, she dons a cap and gown as she poses with campus scenery. She told the college’s website two years ago she always had a love for the field.
“When I was 11 I asked for a circuit board for Christmas because I thought it was cool that this board could play such a huge role in how something works.”
Her love of flight vehicle engineering has paid off as it led her to Boeing’s Engineering Accelerated Hiring Initiative in 2014. The opportunity has allowed her to hold several internships with the company, including positions as a structural analyst and product design intern that same year. She resumed the same position as an analyst in 2015, according to her LinkedIn page.
This isn’t the first time the college senior has generated news. Last March, the then third-year student introduced President Obama to a crowd of students at her university where he spoke on affordable education. The college junior told students at Georgia Tech’s McCamish Pavilion in 2014 that she wrote a letter to the president regarding college affordability. He responded and told her he was working to ensure all Americans, “including future rocket scientists like you, can achieve their dreams without worrying about their loans.” President Obama proclaimed at the time that the university was “one of the finest technical institutes in the world.”

Davis exemplifies that statement as the school website emphasized the undergraduate researcher’s strong work ethic and wild enthusiasm.  She frequently asked questions during her engineering course and spoke up about problems in the classroom. It seems she still keeps in contact with Boeing, as the Washington D.C. native recently tweeted about meeting with a mentor from the company.
