Photos: Japan knife attacker laughs before news cameras, says he wants all disabled people to disappear

26-year-old Japanese man who murdered 19 people at a centre for the mentally disabled grinned at news cameras on Wednesday before being questioned.
Police searched the home of Satoshi Uematsu, , who reportedly said he wanted all disabled people to "disappear", after the knife rampage that left his victims in pools of blood, including some who were stabbed in the neck.
With a blue jacket draped over his head, Satoshi Uematsu was escorted out of a police station into a waiting van before a crowd of flashing cameras. Inside the vehicle with the jacket removed, he smiled broadly in footage broadcast on morning news shows.

Uematsu broke into Tsukui Yamayuri-en centre in the city of Sagamihara outside Tokyo in the early hours of Tuesday. He reportedly tied up two caregivers before stabbing residents using a total of five knives - leaving a total of 26 people injured, 13 of them severely. He quickly turned himself in at a police station, carrying bloodied knives and admitted to the crime. Uematsu reportedly also said:

"The disabled should all disappear."

Questions were being asked about why he had been allowed to leave the hospital where he was admitted in February for mental evaluation following his explicit threats. In a sign that the care centre feared its former employee, public broadcaster NHK - citing Kanagawa prefectural officials - said the facility in April set up 16 security cameras to watch out for him after he was discharged from the hospital.

An official at the Tsukui police station where Uematsu was held after the attack declined to comment on the investigation, only confirming that he was being transported to prosecutors for questioning. Local media said Uematsu has told police that he wants to apologise to bereaved families about the sudden loss of their loved ones, though he still justified what he did.

"I saved those with multiple disabilities," he told police, according to private broadcaster TV Asahi which cited investigative sources.

Security camera footage taken near the centre showed a vehicle arriving there shortly before the attack began. The driver opened the boot to remove objects before walking toward the facility. At around 2:50 am, shortly after an emergency call was made to police from the centre, the footage shows the driver dashing back to the vehicle, carrying a large bag.

Uematsu left his job at the care home and was forcibly hospitalised in February after telling colleagues he intended to kill disabled people at the centre. But he was discharged 12 days later when a doctor deemed he was not a threat.

He had previously delivered a letter to the speaker of the lower house of parliament in which he threatened to kill hundreds of disabled people, outlining a broad plan for night-time attacks against Tsukui Yamayuri-en and another facility. In the rambling letter he presented a vision of a society in which the seriously handicapped could be euthanised with the approval of family members since "handicapped people only create unhappiness".

Koffi Olomide’s Zambia concert cancelled for assaulting female dancer

Koffi Olomide’s Zambia concert has been cancelled after he assaulted one of his female dancers at Nairobi’s JKIA last Friday.
The Rhumba maestro was arrested after a video of him assaulting one of his dancers went viral, sparking outrage and condemnation on social media.

The Congolese Musician was scheduled to perform at this year’s 90th Show at the Zambia’s Agricultural And Commercial Society. The President of the management Committee Ben Shoko said on Sunday that the cancellation follows the unfortunate incident at Kenya’s Airport.
Olomide was deported to Kinshasa, DRC by Kenya Airways after he spent Friday night at JKIA’s police cell. He was arrested outside Royal Media Services offices on Friday evening shortly after his interview with Citizen TV.

The musician has, however, apologised for his behaviour. In a post on his official Facebook page on Sunday, the singer apologised to his fans, especially "women and children", asking for forgiveness.
"I profoundly regret what happened... it was a moment of madness," Olomide told Congolese national broadcaster RTNC, in an interview attached to the Facebook post.
The star also apologised directly to the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo who may have felt "dishonoured by this behaviour".

During the interview, Koffi denied assaulting the dancer, identified as Pamela.

His lawyer George Wajackoyah also accused the police of manhandling the musician.

"The right procedure was not followed in deporting Olomide," he said during a press conference on Saturday." said Wajackoyah

Saudi billionaire dies two weeks after his supermodel ex-wife was awarded £75m in divorce settlement

A former supermodel Ms Christina Estrada who dragged her former husband, billionaire Sheikh Walid Juffali to court demanding £196 million from the businessman to meet her 'reasonable needs' - which included two luxury houses, a huge clothes budget and five cars has been informed that her husband has passed away.

Her ex-husband, billionaire Sheikh Walid Juffali passed away in Zurich on Wednesday following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Dr Juffali, was chairman and heir of EA Juffali and Brothers, one of Saudi Arabia's most successful companies.

Ms Estrada met the businessman in 2000 and got married soon after, then they had a daughter together. However the marriage ran into difficulty after Dr Juffali's decision in 2012 to marry a 25-year-old Lebanese model, who is now the mother of his two youngest children, while still married to Ms Estrada. The sheikh divorced Ms Estrada in Saudi Arabia in 2014 under Islamic law without her knowledge.

Earlier this month Ms Estrada, took the 61-year-old to the High Court where her fight for a share of his fortune became one of the highest-stakes divorce battles of its kind.
Ms Estrada claimed her 'needs' included £1million for clothes, £40,000 for fur coats, £109,000 for haute couture dresses and £21,000 for shoes every year.
She also said she needed enough from her ex-husband to afford a luxury home in London worth about £60million, a £4.4 million house in the country at Henley, as well as £495,000 for five cars - three in London and two in the US.

She told family judge Mrs Justice Roberts: ‘I am Christina Estrada.
'I was a top international model. I have lived this life. This is what I am accustomed to.’ Her lawyers estimated her ex-husband was worth £8billion.

Rather than the £196 million she demanded for her husband's lawyers offered £75million but rejected the offer which, added to her own assets, would have given her some £37million to live on.

Ms Estrada, who is in St tropez, has reportedly been informed of her husband's death this week and was said by friends to be 'devastated' at the news.

However the court hearing was brought forward due to his worsening health. High Court Family Division judge Mrs Justice Roberts had ordered Dr Juffali to pay Ms Estrada the lump sum by 4pm on Friday, July 29, however this could now be subject to a delay while his affairs are put in order. Dr Juffali's death will not affect the settlement. It is now legally binding and he will have to still pay her the money.

She was ultimately awarded a £53million cash settlement at London's High Court - with lawyers saying the payout is worth £75million when assets she has already been given are taken into account.

Her lawyers said the award she received was 'by more than £50million the largest needs award ever made by an English court'.

But Dr Juffali had said in a written statement before he died said in his statement that he had left the vast majority of his wealth to his three oldest children, including his daughter with Ms Estrada, now a teenager, who cannot be identified.
